My Korean Life

I've spent half my life living in South Korea and consider it my second home outside the United States. I found myself living there 20 years ago and loved it so much I continue to visit as often as I can, spending most of my time in the capital city of Seoul. There is a vibrancy in the streets I haven't really experienced anywhere else in the world. The things I love most are the rugged mountains, traditional architecture, cafe / late night culture, and the incredible friendships I've formed over the years.

Fun Facts:
  • Korea was the first country I lived in outside the USA. (the year was 2000 and I was in the military)
  • It 's where I learned how to use chopsticks. (metal not wood)
  • I lived in three different cities over six years. (Wonju, Gangneung, Seoul)
  • I really didn't like kimchi at first (too spicy). I was determined to enjoy it, so I spent months eating it with every meal.

I'm Mike, and I've been traveling and living  all over the world for the last 20 years.  I enjoy connecting with others in our global community, sharing experiences and culture over a meal, coffee, or beer. Pull up a chair and join the conversation.

Stay safe and see you out there!
